At the International Exhibition of the Automotive Industry in Shanghai (which took place in late April 2015), the Chinese company Brilliance held an official showcase of a SUV called V3 (the first representative of this brand in the class of subcompact SUVs), and a few months later it went on sale in the Chinese market ...
After just a couple of years (in the spring of 2017), the car underwent restyling, as a result of which it did not change in any way technically, but at the same time it was "refreshed" outwardly (due to the redesigned bumpers, radiator grille and lighting equipment), received a significantly redesigned interior with a huge touchscreen and "armed" with new options.
Exterior
In August 2019, this five-door finally made it to Russia, but, unfortunately, only in its “pre-reform guise”.
Small crossover Brilliance V3 is made in a recognizable and, most importantly, original design, although in its outlines there are some similarities with the BMW X1 and Range Rover Evoque. But you can't call it a "clone" for sure, because the exterior was "painted" by Pininfarina experts.
The front of the car shows the "family" radiator grille, interpreting the famous Bavarian "nostrils", and the "evil" gaze of the head lighting technology, and the tightened stern accommodates compact lights and a bumper with a powerful lining of unpainted plastic. The silhouette of "V3" looks interesting and moderately dynamic, although with the C-pillar, the designers are still too clever.
Dimensions and weight
The external body dimensions of the Brilliance V3 are 4200 mm long, 1600 mm high and 1790 mm wide. It has a wheelbase of 2570 mm, and the ground clearance (clearance) in the "combat" state is 170 mm.
When equipped, the SUV weighs from 1400 to 1425 kg, depending on the version.
Interior
The interior of a subcompact SUV from the Middle Kingdom looks nice and modern, and the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a stylish instrument cluster with a "window" of the on-board computer even add a touch of sportiness to it.
The center console is designed in accordance with fashion trends - almost its entire area is occupied by a huge screen of the infotainment complex, in which most of the functions are controlled. True, in the basic version, everything is much simpler: the dashboard is crowned with a two-din radio tape recorder and a laconic air conditioning unit with simple buttons and twists.
The front seats in the Brilliance V3 are equipped with reasonably comfortable seats with a wide range of settings, but modest lateral bolsters.
One of the advantages of the SUV is the spacious rear row, on which even three passengers of average height can sit comfortably.
The luggage "hold" of a car of the correct shape in a standard state is designed to transport 455 liters of luggage, but with the back of the "gallery" folded, its capacity increases to 1200 liters, and the maximum length of the transported cargo reaches 1510 mm. True, it is impossible to achieve a level platform.
Characteristics
In the Russian market for the Brilliance V3, one naturally aspirated gasoline unit with four in-line "pots" and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt is offered, which generates 107 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
By default, the engine is combined with a 5-speed "mechanics" and front-wheel drive transmission, and as an option it can be docked with a 5-speed "automatic".
From a place to the first "hundred" the car accelerates after 11.4 seconds, and its maximum capabilities "rest" at 170 km / h.
In the combined mode, the crossover "digests" from 6.9 to 7 liters of fuel for every 100 kilometers, depending on the modification.
Design
The base for the Briliance V3 is a front-wheel drive platform with independent McPherson struts at the front and a semi-independent architecture with a torsion beam at the rear.
An electric power steering is "implanted" into the rack and pinion steering system, and all wheels are equipped with disc brakes, supplemented with ventilation on the front axle, and the necessary set of safety technologies - ABS and EBD.
Options and prices
In the Russian market, the pre-styling Brilliance V3 is offered in two equipment options - "Comfort" and "Deluxe".
- For a car in the basic configuration, dealers ask for a minimum of 839,000 rubles, while another 60,000 rubles will have to be paid for a 5АКПП. Nominally, the car is equipped with: two airbags, air conditioning, ABS, ESP, rear parking sensors, fog lights, leatherette seat upholstery, four power windows, electric mirrors, ERA-GLONASS technology, an audio system with four speakers and some other options.
- For a "top" crossover with "mechanics" they ask for a minimum of 879,000 rubles, and with an "automatic" - 939,000 rubles. Its features are: a media center with a 7-inch screen, cruise control, multifunction steering wheel, rear view camera and "music" with six speakers.
