The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is a premium all-wheel drive mid-size SUV and a factory-prepared version of the base model designed for "cross-country walks" (that is, for those who like to put mud) ...

For the first time, the car was shown to the world community in March 2017 - during an online presentation, and the next month its world presentation took place as part of an international auto show in New York.

The five-door, which reached the Russian market at the end of June 2018, received only minor modifications to the exterior and interior, but much more capable technical "stuffing".

Visually identifying the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk against the background of its standard “brother” is made possible by a dark-colored matte sticker on the bonnet, as well as red towing eyes in the front bumper and unique 18-inch wheel rims with off-road tires with Kevlar inserts on the sidewalls.

The SUV is 4828 mm long, 1943 mm wide, and 1802 mm high. The wheelbase extends at the five-door by 2915 mm, and its ground clearance in normal condition is 218 mm (at the highest air suspension position - 272 mm).

Inside, the off-road Jeep Grand Cherokee differs from the base model with a steering wheel with a Trailhawk emblem, sports front seats with a more developed side profile, black leather trim with red stitching and suede "splashes", as well as a blued steel decor.

Otherwise, they are identical to each other - an attractive and solid design, well-thought-out ergonomics, a high-quality level of performance, a five-seat layout and a luggage compartment with a volume of 457 to 1554 liters (depending on the position of the second row of seats).

Under the hood of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is a 3.6-liter Pentastar all-aluminum V6 petrol engine with dual overhead camshafts, multipoint fuel injection, 24-valve timing and phase shifters on the intake and exhaust, which develops 286 horsepower at 6350 rpm and 347 Nm of torque at 4300 rpm.

As a standard, the car relies on an 8-speed "automatic" and a Quadra-Drive II transmission with permanent four-wheel drive, a demultiplier, cross-axle limited slip differentials (electronically controlled) in both axles and the Selec-Terrain off-road driving algorithm.

In road disciplines, the car shows itself on the good side: it accelerates to the first "hundred" in 8.3 seconds, maximum gains 206 km / h and consumes about 10.4 liters of fuel for every 100 km in a mixed mode of movement.

The five-door is doing well on rough terrain: the angles of entry and exit are 29.8 and 22.8 degrees, respectively (and the first can be increased to 35.8 degrees by removing the lower section of the bumper), and the permissible ford depth reaches 510 mm.

Structurally, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk echoes the standard "brother" - a platform from the Mercedes-Benz M-class based on a monocoque body, independent suspensions of both axles (front - double-lever, rear - multi-link), hydraulic power steering and ventilated brake discs on all wheels ...

The main feature of the car is the presence of air suspension as standard.

In the Russian market, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk in 2018 is sold at a price of 3,760,000 rubles.

As usual, it has: seven airbags, 18-inch wheels, bi-xenon headlights, combined trim, dual-zone "climate", heated both rows of seats and steering wheel, a media center with a color display, electric drive and ventilation of the front seats, a rear-view camera, an audio system with nine columns and more.
