In the spring of 2012, the full-size Chevrolet Traverse crossover premiered on the stage of the New York Auto Show, which has undergone extensive restyling.
The update had a serious impact on the exterior design, completely changed the interior and expanded the list of offered equipment, while the technical "filling" did not undergo any metamorphosis.
After the modernization, the Chevrolet Traverse changed for the better: the front of the car was equipped with retouched headlights with a cunning "squint", a five-sided radiator grille and a bumper with a "smiling" air intake, and at the back - aggressive lights and a sculpted bumper with two exhaust "trunks".
Such improvements not only seriously "rejuvenated" the exterior of the five-door, but also made it much more solid and harmonious.
Compared to its predecessor, "Traverse" shrank in length to 5174 mm, but in other parameters, on the contrary, slightly grew - 1994 mm in width and 1775 mm in height. The car has a 3020 mm wheelbase between the axles, and its “belly” is 183 mm distant from the road surface.
As a result of restyling, the interior of the Chevrolet Traverse retained its recognizable architecture, but received a more modern and noble-looking center console - it flaunts a multimedia center with a large screen and a stylish microclimate unit.
In addition, the quality of the finishing materials has been improved for the crossover.
The cargo-passenger capabilities of the five-door remained at the same level: a seven- or eight-seat layout and a luggage compartment with a capacity of 691 to 3293 liters, depending on the number of seats.
Specifications. The technical "stuffing" of the American off-road vehicle after the update has not changed, as well as the indicators of dynamics and efficiency.
Under the hood of the car is a naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine with a volume of 3.6 liters with direct injection, developing 281 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 361 Nm of peak potential at 3400 rpm (with an improved exhaust system - 288 "horses" and 366 Nm).
In partnership with him, a 6-speed automatic transmission and front or automatic all-wheel drive (with a multi-plate clutch that activates the rear axle) are installed.
Structurally restyled Chevrolet Traverse repeats its predecessor: Lambda platform, load-bearing body, independent front and rear suspension (MacPherson struts and multi-link, respectively), brake pancakes with ventilation on four wheels and power steering (optionally with variable characteristics).
Options and prices. Traverse is not officially imported to Russia, and in the USA the 2016 model is sold in five trim levels - LS Base, LS, 1LT, 2LT and Premier.
Car prices start at $ 28,700 (~ 1.772 million rubles at the current exchange rate), while the “older” solution costs from $ 42,045 (~ 2.596 million rubles).
Nominally, the crossover has seven airbags, air conditioning, 17-inch wheels, a multimedia installation, power windows for all doors, "cruise", a rear-view camera, ABS, EBD, ESP, BA and other equipment.
